New railway bridge on the Bologna-Venice line installed ahead of time. The traffic on the city stretch of the A14 motorway and ring-road had been scheduled to remain closed until 2:00 p.m., detoured to alternative routes. Instead, the southbound traffic on the ring-road was reopened at 7:30 a.m. and by 9:30 a.m. both arteries were open. 75.35 metres long and weighing 840 tonnes, the bridge will enable high-speed trains to and from Venice to stop at the underground terminal of Bologna Centrale.
